Evangelization
Since Evangelization is an umbrella over all areas of church, what is our goal? Somehow, the definition has changed, yet remains the same. Today, we could say, "Evangelization is inviting all to fall in love with Jesus." Our goal, therefore, is to invite all to a personal relationship with Jesus by what we do and who we are-- each person uniquely gifted by God to share the Good News!
Our ten years of Adoration Week, the Let's Talk Program, the Jubilee 2000 classes and more were great beginnings. It showed us that Evangelization ought to be the highest priority in our parish. We need to address questions like: How do we bring back the fallen away Catholics who are hurt and angry or inactive? What spiritual direction do we need? How can we better meet the needs of the family? Finally, how can we better serve our parish family?
We invite you to contact us and tell us your suggestions. My name is Jan Tighe, and it is my job as Coordinator of Evangelization to examine those suggestions. I welcome you to call me at 887-0027. Yes, the Holy Spirit is in charge of our parish, however, HE needs US to be the visible sign of His Presence by using our gifts and talents for the glory of God! Then, our parish family is at their BEST!
An article written in the Michigan Catholic helps explain Evangelization. If you would like to read this article, we have included a copy of it here online.
"Evangelization Is An Eye-Heart Connection"
The article was written some time ago, but the message is the same! I am hopeful my words will touch your heart to the importance of community in our church and in ourlives. You help me, and I'll help you get to heaven!
"For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be open." Matthew 7:8.
